Shame, Old Lady

She was shunned.
Her petals pulled in,
And her colour faded
As she lay down
On the grass beneath her.
Dark red edges
Encircled her,
And her radiant beauty
Disappeared.
Youth
No longer clothed her.
And old, shrivelled lady
Is what she became,
Because someone
Carelessly touched her
With unknowing hands.
