Paint-stained Men

I like the men I see
With paint stains
All over
Their work clothes.

Dirty fingernails
Aren’t so bad
For the first time.

The dirt
On his pail skin
I wouldn’t mind
Washing clean.

His beard is rough
And reminds me
Of the Wolverine.

I smiled inside my head.
Maybe I could
Get used to the smell.

It wasn’t that bad
It was just proof
That he works hard
In those paint-stained shoes.
